My name is Stefan Warner and I am the Green Party of New Brunswick’s candidate for the Portland-Simonds riding in Saint John.
I graduated from the Centre scolaire Samuel-de-Champlain in 2008. I’ve sustained my involvement in Saint John’s French community over the years by participating in plays, coaching soccer teams, and promoting the preservation of Acadian culture & heritage.
I completed my postsecondary studies at UNBSJ and I am currently employed as an elementary school educator in the French Immersion program in Saint John.
My passion as an educator lies in providing a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for my students. My passion as a citizen is derived from my devotion to the City of Saint John, its inhabitants, and the Province of New Brunswick as a whole. My firm and indelible dedication to our region acts as my primary motivating factor in challenging the political status quo in this province.
Most recently, I co-established a mobile food bank with Bee Me Kidz to provide relief to families experiencing worsened food insecurity as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This experience deepened my understanding of existing inequities in Saint John and strengthened my resolve to contribute more concretely to the process of creating a more just and equitable future for all New Brunswickers.
I first ran for the Green Party ten years ago as an inspired and enthusiastic 20-year-old. I’m excited to re-enter the political arena this September with more personal and professional experience, renewed energy and focus, and an unwavering commitment to championing Green Party values.
