Marco was a founding member of the Green Party of New Brunswick, and helped form the constitution in 2008.
From Edmundston, Marco Morency has been involved in the fight against climate change and the protection of the environment for more than twenty years. With a tireless commitment, he was a founding member of the Green Party of New Brunswick who helped create the constitution in 2008, and was, until recently, Vice President of the Petitcodiac Riverkeepers, a non-profit organization working to restore rivers, in addition to being its Executive Director.
Marco is also committed to the protection of language and aboriginal rights, the full municipalization of our communities, and strongly believes that the people of the province can and must work together to preserve the environment and, ultimately, our quality of life. He believes that by creating green jobs based on new environmentally-friendly technologies, by supporting SMEs heavily impacted by the pandemic, and by protecting the region’s magnificent rivers and forests, Edmundston will be able to continue to build a strong, sustainable and prosperous economy, where the rights of all citizens are respected.
Proud of his record of community involvement, Marco Morency has notably served as assistant director of the Société nationale de l’Acadie for 4 years, worked hard for many years at the Fédération des étudiantes et étudiants du Centre universitaire de Moncton to make post-secondary education accessible to all, and more recently, he was assistant director of the 2019 World Acadian Congress. Marco is the current Executive Director of the Green Party of New Brunswick.
